Part 1: Overview of CESMM4 and the Measurement Rules? (Free)

The aim of this course is to provide an overview of the CESMM and an outline of the measurement rules.

After studying this course, you should be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose of a standard method of measurement
  2. Understand the objectives of CESMM4
  3. Understand how the measurement rules operate
  4. Outline the application of the rules.

Part 2: The Bill of Quantities and Work Classes A-D (Free)

The aim of this course is to understand the purpose of the Bill of Quantities and how it is prepared and to understand how works are measured under classifications A to D.

After studying this course, you should be able to:

  1. Identify the purpose of a Bill of Quantities and the importance of its accuracy
  2. Explain the purpose of the work classes
  3. Understand how to measure:
    • General Items
    • Ground Investigation
    • Geotechnical and other processes
    • Demolition and site clearance

Part 3: Work Classes E-H (Free)

The aim of this course is to understand how works are measured under classifications E-H.

After studying this course, you should be able to:

  1. Understand how to measure:
    • Earthworks
    • In situ concrete
    • Concrete ancillaries
    • Precast concrete

Part 4: Work Classes I-M

The aim of this course is to understand how works are measured under classifications I-N.

After studying this course, you should be able to:

  1. Understand how to measure:
    • Pipework
    • Structural metalwork
    • Miscellaneous metalwork

Part 5: Work Classes O-T

The aim of this course is to understand how works are measured under classifications O-T.

After studying this course, you should be able to:

  1. Understand how to measure:
    • Timber
    • Piles
    • Piling ancillaries
    • Roads and pavings
    • Rail track
    • Tunnels

Part 6: Work Classes S-Z

The aim of this course is to understand how works are measured under classifications O-T.

After studying this course, you should be able to:

    • Miscellaneous work
