The aim of this course is to provide an overview of the different individuals that may control the works under the JCT D&B contract, including notably the employer’s agent, site manager, contractor’s persons, Principle contractor, Principle designer and the employer.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

1. Explain the control of the works by the employer’s agent, the site manager and the contractor’s persons.

2. Describe the functionality of the control of the works for the principal contractor and the principal designer under DB16.

3. Understand the basics of the employer’s rights and obligations to control the works under DB16.
