Climate Change and the UK Construction Industry

As climate change continues to rise up public and corporate agendas, industries across the UK are assessing their roles and responsibilities.

In this course we will take a look at the role of the construction industry in contributing to climate change; what industry operators are doing in response; and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

1. Understand the impact of climate change on the built environment, including the contribution of the construction industry to carbon dioxide emissions
2. Identify sustainable working practices and materials that can be used to reduce embodied and operational resource use in construction
3. Recognise the importance of raising awareness of the need for climate change and biodiversity action amongst designers, developers, contractors, funders and investors
