The aim of this course is to explain the key payment rights and obligations under construction contracts and explain how these principles are applied in practice. This course looks at examples from an employer's perspective.
After studying this course, you should be able to;
1. State clearly why the most important of the employer's obligations under a construction contract are monetary.
2. Explain the employer's obligation to pay and the associated adjustments for the contract price, the timing of payment, the advance payment, the effect of certificates, the contract sum, definitions in the contracts, and typical permissible changes.
