The aim of this course is to explain the broad principles of construction management whereby the employer places a direct contract with each of the specialist trade contractors, and utilises the expertise of a construction manager'Äö who acts in the role of consultant.

After studying this course, you should be able to:-

1. Outline key features of the Construction management agreement (JCT CM/A 11) and Construction management trade contract (JCT CM/TC 2011).
2. Explain how the allocation of risk for Time, Money, Default, Completion and Quality are dealt with under these contracts.
3. Summarise the key features to the construction management procurement approach.
